Indonesia has now taken the leadership of ASEAN for 2023 and much is expected to activate the five – point consensus which was failed by the previous chairs.
The ASEAN 5 – point consensus was adopted two months after the coup to restore peace and democracy to Myanmar. Analysts suggest a more assertive approach will only work in dealing with the junta after zero progress within two years.
