Many families in Myanmar ate a family meal in the morning as usual and a few hours laters, their houses and everything they own and cherish are gone! They are forced to run for their lives.
The Myanmar junta’s troops set fire to seven villages in Khin-U Township, Shwebo District, Sagaing Region over 12 days. The local sources reported that more than 300 houses and their possessions were destroyed and about 2500 people were left homeless by the fires that were started between the 5th and 16th of March. In some incidents, the fire killed both villagers and their livestock.
According to a Data for Myanmar research team, since the coup on the 1st of February 2021 until 15th of March 2022, junta forces have set fire to 7,240 houses across the country. They said that the actual number of houses burned was likely to be far higher.
Prayer Requests
Let’s pray that God changes the hearts of the junta and that they stop these inhumane acts, that He will comfort the suffering people and restore their losses.
