After the execution of four anti-coup persons recently, there are increase fightings between the Regime and People Defence Forces (PDFs) allied with the Ethnic Armed Organizations across the country.

This week, there was a heavy fighting between Kachin Independence Army (KIA) united with the People Defence Force (PDF) and the Regime troops joint with Shanni Force in Sel Zin, Hpakant Township. After intense fighting, the KIA and PDF took two Regime military camps, killing at least 15 people from the regime side.

Then, the Regime Army attacked the Sel Zin village with airstrikes and fired heavy weaponries. On the night of August 9th, the Regime Army and its allied troops entered the village and set on fire over 400 houses including the villagers’ properties such as motorcycles and cars by piling them together. On the same day, other Regime troops entered Thit Pu Lwe Kone, a village in Magwe region, where there is no fighting currently, and set it on fire. The villagers run for their lives.

Since the coup the Regime Council has been killing and arresting people, burning villages and people’s properties across the country to instill fear and add misery upon the innocent citizens.
