“As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Remain in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. I have told you these things so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.”
~ John 15:9-11
How wonderful are those words from Jesus? They feel almost too good to be believed! The perfect love that the Father loves Jesus with is the same as Jesus’ love towards us. The complete happiness and joy of perfect communion shared by the Trinity lives in us. God rejoices over His children with singing. It is well with our souls! Even as a babe in Elizabeth’s womb, John the Baptist leapt for joy as Mary, bearing Christ, approached. In His presence there is fullness of joy! Mary, in response to this, sang, “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.” For the joy set before Him, Christ endured the cross. Now we are more than conquerors through Him, knowing that nothing can separate us from His love. That is something to rejoice in this Christmas!
Let’s thank God for the gift of His Son, our Savior and King! Pray that the Lord would fill the hearts of His people in Myanmar with joy, and that they would know that God loves them with an everlasting love that will never leave nor forsake them!
