The journey from the cross to eternal glory

The journey from the cross to eternal glory

It is a time to thank the Lord for the wonderful season of Good Friday and Resurrection. In this season, we remember our Lord Jesus Christ on His journey to the cross and victory over death. Though Jesus was divine He took the very nature of a servant, humbled Himself and obeyed the Father even to death on the cross.

On the journey to the cross, Jesus felt that the Father had abandoned Him and He cried out, “My God, my God, why have You forsaken Me?” It seemed that Jesus’ denying and carrying of the cross was in vain. However, God had been not only always with Him throughout this journey but also exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name for His humility and obedience.

Today, there are many trials and shakings in Myanmar and the world. It seems God has forgotten all of us. Yet He has not. The God of Immanuel is with us always. Jesus called His followers to deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow Him (Luke 9:23). Today we have lost many things- maybe food and opportunity, justice, freedom and peace, and we have suffered in many ways. Yet, as the followers of Jesus, we must remind ourselves that we are following His steps to the cross and eternal glory. In this season, we have to remember Jesus and His call so that we will be able to boldly say like the apostle Paul that “our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us” (Romans 8:18).

May you experience the power of Jesus’ resurrection in this season and always.

Wish you a Happy Good Friday and Resurrection Day.
