After three years of the coup d’état, basic commodities like rice and palm oil, which used to be available for purchase at any time, have reached the point where people have to queue hours to buy them.
As an effort to control the rising commodity prices, the Union Commodity Price Stabilization Committee was established to regulate the basic food prices due to the restriction of selling only at the reference price, the demand for the commodity in the market could not be met. Some suggest that the goods are not kept by traders, but claim that there is an actual shortage of goods due to the malfunctioning import/export guidelines.
In any case, Myanmar is definitely in need of God’s visitation.
