If someone asks what is Myanmar’s biggest issue today, no doubt the economic crisis would be the answer for everyone among the others. The impact of rising commodity prices has been hitting the majority of the civilians hard for the previous 3 years which is even getting worse now.
The World Bank estimates that GDP (gross domestic product value) growth will be only 3 percent until next September, which is about 10 percent lower than in 2019. It further warned that repeated policy mistakes will permanently damage the country’s economy.
One of our partners in the ministry shared ‘’ My hope for the country, for the ministry is for the people’s body, mind and spirit to grow’’. Indeed, it would be instrumental for leaders of churches in Myanmar to help its members and fellow believers to help navigate social and emotional issues under this situation.
