33 million people have been affected by the recent monster monsoon in Pakistan. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) reports, as of September 8th, almost 1,400 fatalities and more than 12,700 injuries. In addition, 660,000 people are in relief camps and one-third of the country is under water. Following the floods, the authorities warned it could take up to six months for deadly flood waters to recede in the country’s hardest hit areas (Sindh and Balochistan Province) and fears rise over the threat posed by waterborne diseases including cholera and dengue.
Pray that the flood water may recede and for a return to a normal weather cycle.
Pray for the people affected by the floods. Pray that God will draw near to them and comfort them in this time of grief. Pray for God’s strength to endure this difficult time.
Pray that God will provide shelter, food and safe drinking water and prevent water borne diseases or sickness. Pray that the world leaders and influential people will have a heart to help tackle the environmental crisis
