Ousted Myanmar Leader Aung San Suu Kyi, who turned 77 on last Sunday

Ousted Myanmar Leader Aung San Suu Kyi, who turned 77 on last Sunday, was transferred from house arrest to ‘solitary confinement in Nay Pyi Taw prison’, junta spokesman Zaw Min Tun said in a statement on 22 June. Suu Kyi has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for six charges and she is still facing 13 more charges. Since the military coup, Myanmar military’s government has detained thousands of pro-democracy protesters and political leaders with different political charges. According to AAPP, there are 3611 people still detained as of 24 June.
