Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in the LORD; for I shall again praise Him, my Help and my God.
Psalms 42:11
The church and the people of God in Myanmar are under attack. Military forces, armed groups and rogue individuals instigate violence — with each side pointing fingers, and plenty of opportunities to place blame upon the other for these evils. Many Christians in Myanmar, including ministry leaders, have been arrested, tortured or even killed. In Chin state, many church buildings have been burnt down.
Despite being forced to flee their homes and finding themselves amongst the internally displaced, followers of Jesus Christ have not given up hope. The Church remains a strength for the communities, and they offer love to neighbors regardless of location. Christians are ministering to mourning families, providing food, and offering medicines and oxygen to those affected. They worship the Lord Jesus Christ and extend His promise to be salt and light in a decaying and dark world.
Prayer Requests
Pray God gives the church strength to continue to shine in new communities, and for non-Christians to come to know Jesus as their Hope and personal Savior through faithful witnesses.
