The new year is in a few days away and many of us are filled with different anticipations and wish for the good things to come. This is especially true for Myanmar people. The people of Myanmar have gone through many atrocities under the Military coup, which will fall on its second anniversary in this coming February. They have lived in a great uncertainty and turmoil over these months.
Now, the people hope and pray for one thing: to realize a clear direction for the country. They pray to end all the fighting and establishment of a civilian government. They hope for peace and justice to prevail once again, stability and prosperity to return, restoration to normalcy in all aspects of their lives. The people of Myanmar are in a great weary. They are tired of news of darkness surround them on daily basis.
Let us pray for Myanmar that God will make their hope and prayers come true as we welcome the new year 2023. More importantly, let us pray that they will put their hope in Him in all situations.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
