Two years after the military coup, on February 2, 2023, the Military Council declared martial law in 37 townships in Sagaing Division, Magwe Division, Pegu Division, Thanintharyi Division, Mon, Kayin, Kayah and Chin states. Since then, more mass and mutual killings increased.
On 1st March, at least 17 local people in Ta Tai village, Sagaing division were taken hostage by the Military Council soldiers. The next day, they were found mass killed near the village. Another mass killing was reported on March 11 in Nan Neit Village, Pin Laung Township, Southern Shan State. Three monks and a total of 21 villagers were mass killed in a Monastery compound. Regarding this mass killing, there are mutual accusations between the Military Council and the local defense groups. National Unity Government’s (NUG) Human Rights Minister U Aung Myo Min said that there have been more than 30 mass killings by the Military Council army since the coup in an online press conference on March 6.
Pray for God’s comfort and His righteous dealings for the families whose love ones were murdered. Pray for God’s supernatural protection for the vulnerable civilians and families whose villages had been burned by the Military Council soldiers. Pray for Myanmar that all the political unrest and killings will end soon and people will enjoy peace and stability once again.
‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
