The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology has been issuing warnings continually about the state of flooding in the country as it is now the rainy season in Myanmar.
The heavy rains in Rakhine State these days flooded at least 50 villages which included some IDPs and Minpya, Mrauk-U and Kyauktaw townships.
Similarly, due to successive rain, increasing river water levels, and floods continue to occur in some areas of Karen State, including Hpa-an. Landslides occurred near Taw Naw waterfall on Myawaddy – Kawkareik Asia Highway.
Due to flooding, transportation was interrupted and thus cut commodity flow resulting in an increase in the price of goods, seasonal flu and diarrhea, accommodation difficulty and so on.
Let’s pray for God’s protection and support for people suffering from the flooding in various parts of Myanmar.
