Schools under the management of anti- junta groups face airstrikes, burnt down or destruction as a bid to force children to study under its education system and to disturb the opposition’s institutionalization process.
The BBC news reported that about 6.2 million students enrolled in the junta schools in the 2023-24 academic year. Nevertheless, only schools in urban areas like Yangon and Mandalay could resume and the interim education facilities at intensely conflicted affected areas like Sagaing and Magwe regions are operated in accordance with the security situation. Nowadays, schools and monasteries are no longer places to take refuge as the military specifically targets to attack them.
