We thank God for the opportunities to serve for the most needy people in the Yangon slums. Following the coup, the military have wiped out huge settlements in the slum areas across the city, leaving thousands without anywhere to call home. These large-scale evictions, alongside the national economic collapse, has led more families and individuals than ever before to be homeless.
To adjust this change, one of our ministry partners has established hostel accommodation for those currently without housing. The people who sheltered to this new place are also volunteering at the ministry centers’ activities and joining together for devotional programs. The center provided them opportunities to learn some vocational trainings such as sewing and develop their skills and find employment.
Prayer Requests
Please pray for the people in the hostel that they would find a new hope and purpose in God. Pray for further opportunities and support, to be able to open more hostels in communities around the ministry centers.
