“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
~ John 16:33
Jesus spoke these words over His disciples, knowing the cost each would pay for following Him. Today we read these words in light of the coup, in light of COVID, in light of injustice and brokenness in Myanmar. We call to mind Emmanuel. The coming of Emmanuel means that believers today are one with Christ, filled with His Spirit, and have full access to the Father. God is not only with us, but within us. What hope! What a wondrous love that has eternally bonded us to the God of the universe. There are countless stories that will be told in Heaven of Emmanuel at work in Myanmar, how He comforted the broken hearted, how He provided daily bread, how He healed the sick, and how He did what man thought to be impossible. His Name is being proclaimed, and His glory is spreading across Myanmar, a nation He dearly loves, through His children. God Himself is with them and for them.
Prayer Requests
Pray for the hearts of believers to be acutely aware of God’s nearness to them, and pray that they would take hope, knowing that Emmanuel has come, and He will come again!
