“Many families sleep with knives under their pillows out of the fear of being robbed. Gatherings of more than 30 people can be shot at. Churches are being burnt down in rural Myanmar. Checkpoints have been established across the country. Anyone who is on the back of a motorcycle who appears to be a threat will be shot. Wearing masks in some areas can lead to a penalty fine of three dollars, and offenders will be slapped in the face. Unchallenged loan shark and gangsters are controlling the slum areas and harassing the people. Hundreds of illegal houses are being burnt down, leaving many homeless.” This is the way one of our ministry partners describes daily life in Myanmar.
Prayer Requests
Please pray for the plight of the people. Pray for their protection, the restoration of justice and stability, for the Lord to provide for and console those who have lost their homes, their loved ones, their income, and their church buildings.
