“Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.” – Luke 6:27-28
After decades of abuse and injustice, many hearts in Myanmar are hardened with hatred against the Tatmadaw, including many Christians. Even in this coup, however, there is a small, determined minority of Christ-followers who are seeking to live out the radical teaching of Jesus. As one evangelist shared, “I wouldn’t know how to go on right now if I didn’t know Jesus…We say we pray for our enemies, but this is one of the times where it’s really hard! He has changed my heart and given me the boldness to do so!”
1. Pray for the Spirit of God to strengthen and transform the hearts of Christ-followers
to have a deep love for their enemies.
2. Ask that He would use the radically counter-cultural example of Christ-followers to
put Jesus on display and shift the whole culture of Myanmar towards true reconciliation.
