“Deliver me, O Lord, from evil men;
preserve me from violent men,
who plan evil things in their heart
and stir up wars continually.”
Psalm 140:1-2
The brutality of the Tatmadaw, Myanmar’s military regime, knows no bounds. Crackdowns on anti-coup protests began with rubber bullets and water cannons; since then, soldiers have killed hundreds of unarmed civilians, even firing on funeral attendees and first responders caring for wounded protesters. On this year’s Armed Forces Day, March 27th, soldiers hijacked an ambulance and drove around a city with their guns sticking out of the windows, shooting civilians on sight. Soldiers also kidnap young people from their homes and off the street in the dead of night, making it impossible for many civilians to sleep for sheer terror.
Prayer Requests
1. Pray for the power of the Tatmadaw to be broken, so that they will no longer terrorize their own people in Myanmar.
2. Pray for the Lord to soften the hearts of many soldiers and police officers, to realize their need for the forgiveness of sins and salvation in Jesus.
