“Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”
Philippians 2:4
One of the most widespread forms of protest in Myanmar has been the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM). As many as 3 out of 4 civil servants (over 75,000 workers) have refused to go to work, paralyzing banking, transportation, and businesses in an attempt to get the military to relinquish control. Many civil workers have held their ground even when threatened by the military or evicted from their government-provided housing, and some have chosen to sacrificially continue serving their people outside of governmental avenues.
Prayer Requests
1. Pray for God’s protection over civil workers who are courageously risking and sacrificing to continue serving others while defying the military.
2. Pray that the Lord would miraculously turn the hearts of the military regime to relinquish their tight hold on Myanmar’s reins of power.
