Every person in Myanmar will have the opportunity to be reached and restored by the love of Jesus.

In the next five years, a number of organizations are committed to partnering together in an effort to impact the nation of Myanmar through strengthening the local church, planting reproducing churches, and making disciples among all people groups and in every sphere and strata of society.

Day 21: Survival in Shan State

Day 21: Survival in Shan State

“For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords,
the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality nor takes a bribe.
He administers justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the stranger,
giving him food and clothing.”

Deuteronomy 10:17-18

Home to Myanmar’s second largest ethnic group, Shan State has some of the country’s most heavily armed ethnic militias, who sometimes fight not only the Burmese military but also each other. Hostility between ethnic armed groups has destroyed thousands of homes. In late May, about 25 houses were burned down in the small, quiet village of Man-li, forcing villagers to flee from artillery fire. Villagers have had to rely on their creativity to survive, building makeshift transportation from old farm tractors and repurposing rain tarps for water purification to safely nourish their children.

Prayer Requests

1. Pray for the generations of Shan believers whom the Lord has placed for such a time as this, that they would trust in His might and kindness to sustain them.

2. Pray for resettlement efforts of displaced Shan families, and for the Lord God to reunite the weary into His heavenly kingdom.
