“For He satisfies the longing soul,
and the hungry soul He fills with good things.”
Psalm 107:9
As the economy of Myanmar staggers on the edge of collapse, the poorest of the poor have suffered the most. In the worst slums near Yangon, families that were barely surviving during the COVID lockdowns found themselves having all means of provision cut off. Some families resorted to eating watercress grass just to have something to fill their stomachs. One ministry partner has tripled its food relief to feed over 5,000 people daily in the slums. Still, for many families, it is their only meal of the day.
