“Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.”
When a nation is in turmoil, children always pay a price. Schools in Myanmar have been closed for over a year due to the pandemic and now the coup. Sixty schools and counting have been taken over by the Tatmadaw. Over 80% of families countrywide reported having their income cut by half at the end of 2020 due to COVID, greatly increasing the risk of child malnutrition. Childhood trauma is heartbreakingly likely in the rising tide of violence and instability. At least 43 children have been killed in the military’s harsh crackdowns, including a 6 year old girl who died in her father’s arms.
1. Pray for the children of Myanmar as chaos and violence surround them, for God’s protection over their eyes, ears, minds, hearts and lives.
2. Pray for peace to be restored to these children’s lives, and for their eyes to be drawn to our Heavenly Father who loves them.
