“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
Thousands of rural families in Myanmar cook their daily meals over a fire. Many develop lung and eye diseases from exposure to toxins released from burning coals and woodsmoke, contributing to thousands of deaths in Myanmar every year. As the recent coup and COVID pandemic have devastated Myanmar’s economy, many rural families are struggling to pay for firewood.
In response, a local ministry produces and distributes clean cookstoves to families living in poverty. These stoves emit 60% less smoke and use 50% less fuel. This significantly improves household air quality, protects families’ health, and saves money on firewood. This ministry recently delivered clean cookstoves at no cost to 264 homes in need.
The ministry also employs locals to produce the cookstoves. People who are deaf, mothers in slums, and people living with HIV can acquire vocational skills and support their loved ones. Best of all, producing and distributing these cookstoves has opened up opportunities to develop relationships and start conversations about Jesus.
Consider supporting the ministry distributing these cookstoves below:
- Praise God for using these cookstoves to save lives and build bridges to the Gospel! Pray that these families will not only experience an improved quality of life, but also come to know Jesus and have eternal, abundant life in Him.
- Pray that the Lord would continue to supply, protect, and glorify Himself through ministries caring for vulnerable families in Myanmar.
