The FAO‑WFP’s Hunger Hotspots warns about a quarter of the population of Myanmar will be at risk of not having enough food over the next six months.
This outlook states acute food insecurity is likely to deteriorate further in 18 hunger hotspots – comprising a total 22 countries – during the outlook period from June to November 2023. The intensity of the conflict and ongoing, high numbers of displacement amid extreme constraints to humanitarian access – which are likely to further deteriorate in the outlook period in Myanmar, said the report.
