A call to trauma healing ministry

The voice of families mourning over the lost of their loved ones hovering in the media due to recent military air strikes across the country especially in Kachin State and Sagaing Division where many civilians were mass killed. A father, whose little daughter was killed by the military air strike in Sagaing Division, beats his chest in great grieving and said to an interview, “My little daughter was just seven years old. She loves me alot. She died while I was looking for her”. The trauma and pain people experienced from these mass killings are profoundly shattering for many.

As the Bible teaches us, this is the time for us to mourn with those who mourn -sharing their pain, grief and misery and petitioning for God’s righteous act, his comfort, healing, and restoration from different levels of trauma. God has called Myanmar churches and Christian ministries to serve the brokenhearted using the Scripture and other different resources or tools of trauma healing available. It is a crucial time to reflect the Nazareth manifesto (Jesus’ mission statement): good news to the poor, release to the captives, recovery of sight to the blind, freedom for the oppressed. May God use His children in Myanmar to be a great instrument of serving people in love and faith.
