“His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom endures from generation to generation.” – Daniel 4:34
Within days of Myanmar’s coup, thousands of civilians poured into the streets in anger to protest for the release of newly-elected officials and restoration of democratic rule. Since then, mere protests have evolved into major conflicts, as ethnic defense forces and peoples defense forces have clashed relentlessly with the Junta military in an attempt to restore democracy in the nation. Many in the church are unsure as to what their roll is to play in this story. How can they walk in His peace that surpasses understanding in the middle of this storm of civil war and conflict? They know that God cares about what is happening, but many are unsure how to stand in such a way as to not lose sight of the fact that they are chasing after the kingdom that is everlasting.
Prayer Requests
1. Pray for believers and unbelievers alike to put their hope in the unending Kingdom of God instead of the passing shadow of Myanmar’s earthly governments.
2. Pray for Christ-followers in Myanmar to engage these perilous times with the eyes and heart of Jesus, seeing and living out His vision for the Kingdom as He did.
